“Riddell Kurczaba’s 3D animations have become an essential tool for Calgary Municipal Land Corporation’s redevelopment of East Village. The 4th Street Underpass animation was instrumental in getting approval for funding, and was also used as a design tool for engineers and surrounding landowners. The media and the public really responded to the animations of the 8th Avenue Streetscape Plans and the River Walk development as they helped everyone visualize the projects in a consistent and highly visual manner. Riddell Kurczaba’s 3D team has been very responsive and helpful with suggestions to improve the visualizations and meet our expectations for time and budget. IN THE VILLAGE
RK Visualization completed the first animation of East Village in 2009. Now that construction has begun and much of the land has been sold for development, CMLC thought it was time to revisit this project to show Calgarians what this exciting development will look like once complete. RKV used a myriad of techniques to create this video, including aerial drone footage, camera matching, and video composited with CG.
